Philippine Electronic Passport (e-Passport) Application Process

The application process for Philippine e-passport (e-Passport) includes the following steps:

1. Fill in the passport application form.

2. Code the information on the passport application form into the electronic passport system.

3. Take photos of the applicant.

4. Collect the applicant's electronic fingerprints.

5. Obtain the applicant's electronic signature.

6. Before the processor keeps the electronic application for approval by the signing official, the applicant checks and reads the information on the passport registration system.

7. Pay RMB 456.00 for renewal of electronic passport.

Note: The replacement fee for the lost passport is RMB 1,140.00, excluding the notarial fee of RMB 190.00 for the lost affidavit.

8. The application is sent electronically to Manila, where the e-passport is processed.

The entire application process takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

Since biometrics (photos, electronic signatures, electronic fingerprints) will be collected, applicants must be present in person when applying for a new passport.

After the processing is completed, four to six (4-6) weeks later, applicants are advised to regularly check the embassy's WeChat circle of friends (WeChat ID:philippineembassy) for consultation on PASSPORTS AVAILABLE FOR RELEASE. Alternatively, applicants can call (telephone numbers: 6532-1872/6532-2451 local 117, 118, 128 and 125) or send e-mail to the (beijingpe.consular@dfa.gov.ph) embassy to inquire whether their passport is ready to be issued during office hours. Passports can be collected in person or by courier. If you cannot collect your passport in person, you can arrange a courier service at the applicant's expense.

As an important reminder, the embassy reiterated that people whose passports are valid for less than six (6) months are at risk of not being able to travel, because most immigration authorities believe that these passports cannot be used to issue exit visas and for travel.

Therefore, the embassy advises everyone to apply for a new passport at least eight to twelve (8-12) months before the passport expires.
