Philippines 2024 statutory holidays and special holidays (with salary algorithm)

The Presidential Office of the Philippines issued Proclamation No. 368 on October 13, 2023, declaring the 2024 official holidays, special non-working holidays and special working holidays in the Philippines.

Statutory non-working holiday Regular Holiday:

January 1 (Monday)-New Year's Day

Thursday, March 28-Maundy Thursday

Friday, March 29-Good Friday (Holy Week)

April 9 (Tuesday)-Warrior's Day (Araw ng Kagitingan)

May 1 (Wednesday)-Labor Day

June 12 (Wednesday)-Independence Day

August 26 (Monday)-National Heroes Day

December 25 (Wednesday)-Christmas Day

November 30 (Saturday)-Vinifa Life Day (Bonifacio Day)

Monday, December 30-Rizal Day

**During statutory non-working holidays, the employee's daily salary algorithm is as follows:

No one-day pay x100%

One-day salary x200%

Overtime one working hour x hourly wage x260%

In the event of an employee's rest day on a statutory holiday, the salary algorithm for the day is as follows

One-day salary x260%

Overtime one working hour x hourly wage x338%

Special non-working holiday Special Non-working Holiday:

February 10 (Saturday)-Spring Festival

March 30 (Saturday)-Black Saturday

Wednesday, August 21-Ninoy Aquino Day

Friday, November 1 (All Saints' Day)

November 2 (Saturday)-AII Souls' Day

Sunday, December 8-Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

December 24 (Tuesday)-Christmas Eve

December 31 (Tuesday)-New Year/Last Day of the Year

Note: Other religious or local festivals such as Eid al-Fitr will depend on the situation, and the Philippine Presidential Palace will issue a separate document for this purpose. The Philippine Presidential Office document did not include the 2023 Lunar New Year or Spring Festival as a special non-working holiday this year.

During special non-working holidays, the employee's salary calculation for the day is as follows: no work and no salary

One-day salary x130%

Overtime working hours x hourly wage x169%

In the event of a special non-working holiday employee rest day, the day's salary algorithm is as follows

150 per cent for a day at work

Overtime one working hour x hourly wage x195%
