Good news! Philippine Airport Cancels "Vaccination Certificate" Requirement for Inbound Passengers!

According to Philippine media reports, the Philippine Sinegros government no longer requires passengers to show COVID-19 vaccination cards at Bacolod-Silay airports.

Governor Rayfrando Diaz said he wrote to acting airport manager Roel Aranzado to inform him that the examination of the vaccination card had ended on December 1.

"This is to harmonize with domestic airport agreements, especially in Manila," Diaz said."

At least 21 flights arrive at Bacolod-Silay Airport every day. Diaz said the province's vaccination inspection team at the airport had reported to the Capitol. Despite the relaxation of the restrictions, the local government reminded the public not to relax their vigilance on COVID-19.

According to the Provincial Incident Management Group (PIMT), at least 16 people died from the horrific virus in Sinegros in November alone. The team also recorded 626 new COVID-19 cases in November in Sinegros.

As of November 27, Sinegros had vaccinated 78.55% of its target population against COVID-19, a health ministry report said Friday.

The Ministry of Health stated that due to the low vaccination rate, the remaining provinces of Sinegros and Antique in the West Visayan Islands are on level 2 alert.

The Philippines had earlier relaxed its requirements for inbound travelers to attract more tourists and businesses.
