Manny Pacquiao (Manny Pacquiao), born on December 17, 1978 in General Santos, Philippines, is a Filipino boxer.
01. Early Experience
The suffering of childhood has tempered the fighting spirit of daring to fight.
In 1978, Pacquiao was born in a fishmonger family in the southern Philippines. When he was a child, he often slept on cardboard boxes because of his family's poverty.
After his parents divorced, in order to help his mother make a living, at the age of 12, Pacquiao dropped out of school and took to the streets to make a living by selling doughnuts. Two years later, he carried his family to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and worked as a small cigarette vendor on the street. He often lived under the bridge opening and covered with newspapers to keep warm. Perhaps because of living at the bottom, Pacquiao has admired people like Bruce Lee and boxing champion Ali since he was a child. That is, during this period, Pacquiao discovered that "fighting" could actually become a career. At this time, he began to participate in underground boxing matches in the suburbs of Manila. Each match can only earn a mere two dollars in appearance fees. Many boxers died in this unsecured amateur game, but Pacquiao persevered and kept moving forward, eventually embarking on a career path.
In 1995, Pacquiao gained fame in an exhibition match and won the championship. After that, he came to the United States and participated in the American super lightweight competition as a substitute, winning the championship by accident.
02. Career
The distance of a fist is not necessarily the world.
In January 1995, he participated in the first professional game and gained fame ever since. In June 2001, he won the super lightweight championship in a competition held in Las Vegas, USA, which attracted the attention of the United States for the first time. In the following 8 years, Pacquiao defeated many world famous players and established the status of world champion. In December 2008, he defeated the famous American boxer De La Hoya, who has since retired from boxing. In November 2009, Pacquiao defeated the defender Cotto in the WBC Welterweight Championship and won his seventh gold belt. On November 24, 2013, he defeated the defending WBO welterweight champion Brandon Rios and won his first comeback victory. In 2015, he and American boxing champion Mayweather staged a century battle in Las Vegas, the American casino, and finally Mayweather won. On April 10, 2016, the third battle between Pacquiao and Bradley in the World Boxing Championship started at the MGM Hotel in Las Vegas, USA, and finally won the competition and won the WBO welterweight gold belt.
On July 3, 2017, the 38-year-old Pacquiao played against the 27-year-old Australian rookie Horn. Pacquiao fought hard for 12 rounds and finally defeated the rookie Horn by points and handed over the WBO champion gold belt.
03. Political Attempts-Participation in Presidential Elections
The winner of boxing, the political "defensor"
The 42-year-old world boxing champion Pacquiao officially announced his retirement and submitted his candidacy certificate for the 2022 presidential election of the Philippines.
He was the first person to submit a presidential candidacy certificate in a general election in the Philippines. If the campaign is successful, he will become the world's first world champion to be elected president. Of course, the ending also came out. Pacquiao lost the election.
In order to run for president, Pacquiao has prepared for at least 10 years.
However, Pacquiao's mother opposed his political career and believed that her son was not suitable for politics.
Perhaps it is his mother who knows Pacquiao best, because after entering politics, Pacquiao showed the other side of him to the outside world.
Unlike the image of the winner in boxing, Pacquiao was labeled a "defensor" because of his political stance.
Pacquiao once publicly praised his political allies as "very good people". After accepting the sponsorship of political allies, he stood on the opposite side of the allies and accused them because of interest issues.
This backlash made Pacquiao's image plummet and was questioned by supporters.
He is called the "wall grass" in politics ".
So: there is a specialization in the art industry.
