Royal Philippine Airlines launches Hong Kong-Davao flights

Royal Philippine Airlines (Royal Air) has announced that it will launch two direct flights a week between the southern city of Davao and Hong Kong, China.


Royal Airlines will use the 150-seat A319 aircraft to fly this route every Thursday and Sunday, with an estimated flight time of 3 hours and 10 minutes. the plane will depart from china's hong kong international airport at 11:55 pm, while the return flight will depart from davo airport at 4:05 pm.

Reynald Ramos, Chief Operating Officer of Royal Philippine Airlines, said: "We hope to increase flights between Davao and Hong Kong, China, to help Mindanao residents take more international flights and help overseas workers get home in time for the holidays. This air connection will enable Hong Kong, China travelers to explore Davao's rich cultural heritage, natural wonders, eco-adventure activities and hospitality, and to immerse themselves in the beauty of our region's diversity."

Tanya Rabat Tan, Director of the Davao City Tourism Department (DOT), said, "The direct flights will improve tourism connectivity between Davao and Hong Kong, China, which will not only strengthen the local tourism industry, but also bring more tourists to Davao, thereby consolidating Davao's position as a destination of choice for conventions, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions (MICE). In addition, Davao and Hong Kong, China offer unique travel experiences and products for potential visitors."

Cathay Pacific, headquartered in Hong Kong, China, used to fly the Davao-Hong Kong, China-Davao route five times a week, but was grounded in early 2020 due to the epidemic.

Currently, the only international flights from Davao International Airport are the Davao-Doha route of Qatar Airways and the Davao-Singapore route of Singapore Airlines and its budget carrier Scoot.
