The Capital Region Foreigner Employment Permit AEP will be received on an appointment basis.

On September 20, local time, the Capital Region Office (DOLE-NCR) of the Philippine Department of Labor issued an announcement stating that the agency has adopted an appointment system to issue Alien Employment Permits (AEP).

Sarah Buena Mirasol, director of the Capital Region Office, said: "The move is to provide better services and continuously improve the process of issuing Alien Employment Permits (AEP). Approved employment permits for foreigners will be issued by appointment. Once the card is printed, the customer will receive a notification to reserve the card."

"Employment permits for foreigners can be collected or delivered through authorized representatives or courier services," she added."

At the same time, if the applicant urgently needs to obtain a foreigner's employment permit, the Capital District Office will handle it on a special basis after evaluating the relevant documents. These situations include the expiration or renewal of the 9G work visa, travel abroad, etc.

The authorities reminded that, in accordance with section 25 of Department Order No. 221-21 or the Revised Rules and Regulations on the Issuance of Alien Employment Permits to Foreign Citizens, Alien Employment Permits clients must submit quarterly reports on Alien Employment Permits by 31 October.

An employment permit for foreigners is one of the documents authorizing foreigners to work in the country.

The Department of Labor issues an employment permit for an alien only after it determines that no Filipino is competent, capable and willing at the time of the application to perform the services that the alien wishes to perform.
