Philippine president declares June 24 special non-working day in Manila

Through Proclamation No. 261, June 24 (Saturday) was declared a special non-working day to commemorate the 452 anniversary of the city's founding.

"It is fitting and proper that the people of the city of Manila should have full opportunity to participate in this great event and enjoy the celebration," the presidential palace said in the announcement."

The Presidential Palace issued a statement on Friday, 16 June.

It was signed on Thursday 15 June by President Ferdinand "Bongbang" Marcos authorized Executive Secretary Lucas Belsamin.
