Effective from June 1, 2022, Chinese citizens can apply for a Malaysian visa on arrival (VOA) at a designated port to meet the following conditions:

(1) Eligible Chinese citizens who must arrive from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia or Brunei and hold valid visas from the above three countries.

(2) It must be passed through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA and KLIA2), Penang International Airport, Sinai International Airport, Sarawak Kuching International Airport, Sabah Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Keddar Kota Kaoyi Airport, Keddar Kuroshan Entry and Exit Checkpoint, Sarawak Miri International Airport, Sarawak Shuangxi Dujiu Entry Checkpoint, Labuan Ferry Terminal and 12 Ark International Airport.

(3) A return ticket and at least 1000 US dollars in cash, cheque or credit card, debit card or electronic currency approved by Malaysia National Bank shall be held.

(4) RM 200 yuan is required for the issuance of a visa on arrival.

(5) and the visa is valid for 15 days and cannot be extended.

Holders of Chinese diplomatic and official passports can enter Malaysia visa-free for 30 days. Chinese citizens holding ordinary Chinese official passports will no longer enjoy visa-free access to Malaysia for 30 days from December 31, 2020. Entry is restricted from Kuala Lumpur KLIA/KLIA2 Airport, Penang International Airport, Langkawi International Airport, Sabah Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Sarawak Kuching International Airport, Sarawak Miri International Airport and other ports. Other small and medium-sized ports have no right to apply for visa-free entry, which needs to be confirmed before departure. Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports should still obtain a Malaysian visa before traveling to Malaysia.

Note: Passport to apply for a visa to Malaysia must be valid for more than 6 months. If a Chinese citizen is issued with a new passport, the Malaysian visa on the old passport will become invalid and must reapply for a Malaysian visa with the new passport.
