Foreigners who come to work in China need to apply for a work permit first, and the valid time of the work permit is basically one year, but in fact not all jobs need such a long time, so the country does not have a humane application for foreigners to work in China?

The answer is yes. According to the "Guidelines on Work Permits for Foreigners in China", foreigners who enter the country to complete short-term work tasks and stay in the country for no more than 90 days must apply for a "work permit for foreigners in China (90 days and below)". In order to facilitate reading, we refer to "work permit for foreigners in China (90 days and below)" as "short-term work visa" for short-term work visa "for short-term work visa.

The scope of application of short-term contracts.

The scope of a common short-term work visa refers to foreigners entering the country to complete short-term work tasks, entering the country for the following reasons, and staying in the country for no more than 90 days:

1, to domestic partners to complete a certain technical, scientific research, management, guidance and other work;

2, to domestic sports institutions for trial training (including coaches, athletes);

3. Shooting films (including commercials and documentaries);

4. Fashion show (including car model, shooting print advertisement, etc.).

It does not fall within the scope of short-term employment.

The following circumstances are not considered to be the completion of short-term work tasks, so the following circumstances cannot be the reason for applying for short-term work visas:

1, the purchase of machinery and equipment supporting maintenance, installation, commissioning, disassembly, guidance and training;

2. To guide, supervise and inspect the winning projects in China;

3, sent to domestic branches, subsidiaries, representative offices to complete short-term work;

4. Participating in sports events (including athletes, coaches, team doctors, assistants and other relevant personnel. However, according to the requirements of international sports organizations, approved by the competent department of our country, except for entering the competition with a registration card);

5. Volunteers and volunteers who enter the country to engage in unpaid work or are paid by overseas institutions.

If there are 1, 2, 3, 4 situations, and the stay time does not exceed 90 days, it shall apply for an M-character visa; if there is a fifth situation, and the stay time does not exceed 90 days, it shall apply for an F-character visa. If the personnel listed in items 1, 2, 3 and 5 stay for more than 90 days at a time, they shall apply for the relevant procedures in accordance with the regulations on the Administration of Employment of foreigners in China and apply for a long-term work permit, that is, a long-term work visa.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Short-term Work Signing

Short-term job signing is different from long-term job signing, not only because of the different scope of application, but also short-term job signing has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of short-term job signing:

1. The application time is fast and can be completed in about 10 working days;

2. The required materials are simple. For short-term work of models, the applicant only needs to prepare passport information materials and health certificates;

3, and long-term employment visa is the same as legal employment, protected by labor law;

4. It is allowed to work in multiple employers, but the names of all working cities (no more than 5) shall be listed when applying.

Disadvantages of short-term job signing:

1. The maximum effective time is 90 days and cannot be postponed;

2. There are restrictions on the scope of application. Not any job can apply for a short-term job visa. For jobs beyond the scope of application, a long-term job visa should be applied for and handled in accordance with the application requirements for a long-term job visa. The meaning of a short-term job visa is not equivalent to a business M visa or a visit F visa;

3, holding a Z visa, stay period of not more than 30 days, do not apply for work-type residence certificate, stay period of more than 30 days (including 30 days), need to apply for work-type residence certificate;

4. The processing time for short-term work visas should be 6 months apart, that is, the same foreigner can only apply for short-term work visas twice a year.

Precautions for Short-term Work Signing

1. If the laws and regulations of our country stipulate that the competent department of the industry should be pre-approved or have the corresponding professional qualifications for admission in our country, the approval document or professional qualification certificate of the competent department of the industry should also be provided. That is, foreigners who apply for short-term entry to complete professional and technical work tasks shall provide the original relevant academic qualifications or technical (vocational) qualification certificates in accordance with national regulations. For example, when foreign doctors enter the country to complete short-term tasks, they should follow the "Interim Regulations on Short-term Medical Practice by Foreign Doctors in China". The inviter must be a medical institution in China, and foreign doctors should obtain the "Foreign Physician Short-term Medical Practice License".

2. If the place where foreigners enter the country to complete their work tasks involves two or more regions, it shall be indicated in the column "other work tasks and the name of the work unit" in the "Application Form for Foreigners to Complete Short-term Work Tasks", up to five.

3. If there are more than two domestic partners, the business license certificate of other domestic cooperative units and the cooperation agreement or project contract between China and foreign parties shall be submitted at the same time.

4. The cooperation agreement or project contract between China and foreign parties shall include information such as the applicant's name, nationality, passport number, job position, job content, job location, working period and number of entries.
