Philippine NAIA T1 Cancels Preliminary Security Check Lounge Restaurant to Provide Credit Card Service within 2 Weeks

On December 1, local time, in order to improve the experience of travelers, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) decided to cancel the first security check procedure at Nino Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.

Ma. O Aplasca, administrator of the Office of Transportation Security, said: "The cancellation of the preliminary inspection procedures is in line with international standards to facilitate the movement of passengers. However, this does not mean that we will relax our vigilance. We have deployed police and resources around the airport, including police and intelligence personnel on civilian patrols, explosive dogs that randomly check passengers' luggage, etc."

But the official emphasized that despite the cancellation of the preliminary security procedures, the check-in hall is still limited to passengers with travel plans for the day to control the flow of people.

He added: "The authorities are also evaluating other terminals to check the procedures that can be improved."

Meanwhile, Bryan Co, senior assistant general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority, said the authorities are speeding up the upgrade of the payment system for franchisees inside the airport to provide other payment methods such as credit cards.

According to a Tiktok video circulated a few days ago, foreigners lamented that Terminal 2 is very unfriendly to passengers because only cash transactions are available everywhere, and the only ATM machine in the waiting room cannot provide normal service.

In response, the airport franchisee promised to solve the problem within two weeks, and the bank to which the ATM belongs was also named to ensure that the ATM machine has money at all times.
