Philippine government announces 2023 holidays

On Wednesday, President Marcos issued a new announcement adjusting the list of statutory holidays and adding a special non-working day next year.

Signing Proclamation No. 90, he said it was necessary to follow economic principles and give people longer weekends because "it would help encourage domestic travel and increase our country's tourism spending".

Adjusted list of holidays in 2023

-New Year's Day, January 1

-April 10th Martyrs Festival

-April 6th

-April 7th Good Friday

-May 1st Labor Day

-Independence Day, June 12

-National Hero Day on August 28

-November 27, Vinnifa's birthday anniversary

-Christmas on December 25

-Rizal Memorial Day on December 30

Special non-working days:

-On February 25, the anniversary of the revolution of the people's power in Sha

-August 21 Ninoy Aquino Day

-Halloween, November 1

-The Feast of the Immaculate Sin of Mary on December 8

-December 31, the last day of the year

-Additional special non-working days on November 2:

-Additional special non-working days on 2 January:

Considering the need for Filipinos to visit relatives and friends during the New Year and help the people spend time with their families, the president designated January 2 as an additional special non-working day.

Marcos said that every year, November 30 is the observation day of Vinnifa's birthday and may still be declared as a working day.

The President pointed out that all other provisions of the Series No. 42 of 2022 will remain in force.
