Philippine Immigration Bureau Opens New Office at Airport, Visa Extension, etc

According to Philippine media reports, on October 27, the Immigration Bureau (BI) opened a new 7-day 24-hour one-stop office at Nino Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasai City.

The office is located on the 3rd floor of the NAIA Terminal 3 Government Clearing Center and mainly serves foreign passengers who require visa extension and exit permits.

Immigration Director Norman Tansingco presided over the ceremony, which was also attended by key officials from the Immigration Department, the Justice Department and the Manila International Airport Authority.

The one-stop service is a priority for the new Director, which aims to bring the services of the Immigration Department closer to people.

"Immediately after I took office, we assessed where our department was and what needed to be done, and this office was set up to meet the needs of those who needed emergency immigration documents, and it was a solution to improve our services," Tansinko said."

In addition, he stated that this office will only receive international passengers who need immigration documents. Foreigners who need to do other business are advised to visit any of the nearly 60 offices of the Immigration Service nationwide.
