Don't trust swindlers who can handle "immigration business" at a preferential rate! The Philippine Immigration Service has discovered a number of cases

According to Philippine media reports, on November 11, the Philippine Immigration Bureau (BI) once again warned new foreigners in the country not to trust swindlers who provide preferential immigration services.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco again warned those who offered to fix immigration-related documents after two recent interceptions at Paranak's Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and its main office in Manila.

"We issue a warning to foreigners not to believe in illegal concessions. We have about 60 offices across the country and are expanding to ensure services are closer to the people, there is really no reason not to comply with immigration laws."

On October 25, immigration officers intercepted a U.S. citizen who showed a false exit permit at the NAIA terminal. Immigration officials reported that after checking, they noticed multiple vulnerabilities in the file, including Tansingco misspelled names.

Upon verification with their central database, it was found that the Bureau had not issued such permits. The alien was refused boarding and handed over to the legal department of the Immigration Department for proper handling.

Foreigners holding temporary visitor visas to stay in the country for more than six months require exit permits.

On the other hand, the Director of Immigration rejected the applications of 36 Indonesians for Temporary Work Permit (pwp) because they submitted forged Alien Employment Permit (AEP) in their applications.

The application rejected on October 28 was submitted by two Makati-based Internet marketing and customer support services companies.
