The Philippine House of Representatives will continue its mission of "wearing masks!

According to Philippine media reports, on November 8, the Philippine House of Representatives will continue to carry out the task of wearing masks.

Earlier, Reginald Velasco, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, said that there are no plans to relax the regulations on wearing masks in the Quezon City Complex.

Asked whether the cover-up rules, first implemented when the Philippines recorded its first Covid-19 case in early 2020, would be relaxed, Velasco said in a brief response: "Not at the moment."

House staff and visitors are still subject to weekly Covid-19 antigen tests, and negative results will prevent staff or visitors from entering more important positions in the complex.

Malakanyan issued Executive Order No. 7 (EO) on October 28, which stipulates that the use of masks in indoor and outdoor environments is voluntary.

Several departments, notably the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), have adopted the directive.

According to EO No. 7, it is still mandatory to wear masks in medical facilities, medical transportation vehicles and public transportation.
