The Philippines has expelled the first batch of Chinese, and the second batch will be expelled in the first week of November!

According to Philippine media reports, on October 19, the Philippine Immigration Bureau (BI) began to expel Chinese citizens suspected of participating in the illegal operation of the Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) in the country.

According to reports, eight Chinese citizens arrived at Nino Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2, preparing to take a flight back to Wuhan, China.

Of the eight, six were illegal POGO workers who were arrested in Pampanga on 11 September 2022, while the remaining two were arrested on overstaying without a license.

Before boarding the plane, the deportees were tested for reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The Minister of Justice, Jesus Crispin Remula, plans to personally oversee the alien's expulsion process.

Norman Tansinko of the Philippine Immigration Bureau said that the two overstaying Chinese citizens even tried to prevent them from being deported by filing a lawsuit against themselves, because if they had outstanding cases in the Philippines, they could not be deported. However, BI can solve this problem.

The Immigration Bureau currently holds more than 400 Chinese citizens who will be deported. The second batch is scheduled for the first week of November.
