Latest entry and exit developments: 79 countries around the world lift new crown entry restrictions

The latest World Tourism Barometer released by the United Nations World Tourism Organization UNWTO shows that in the first five months of this year, international tourism recovered strongly, with the number of global international tourists reaching 0.25 billion, more than three times that of the same period last year (221%) and returning to nearly half of the pre-epidemic level in 2019 (46%).

Up to now, 79 countries and regions around the world have lifted all entry restrictions on the new crown epidemic, and many countries have adjusted and optimized their entry and exit policies (the latest entry and exit policies are coming! Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other countries have relaxed their requirements).

The World Tourism Organization believes that the recovery of international tourism will be further strengthened in the second half of 2022, and it is expected that the number of international tourists in 2022 will return to 55% to 70% of the 2019 level, which is equivalent to an increase of 90% to 140% over 2021.

The removal of new crown entry restrictions means that there is no need for vaccine certificates, no need for new crown nucleic acid testing (before departure and after arrival), no need for isolation, and no more restrictions related to the new crown outbreak before the entry policy returns to the outbreak.
