Philippine Justice Department appoints immigration chief

The new Philippine Minister of Justice (DOJ), Jesus Crispin Remulla "Boying", appointed Rogelio Gevero Jr. as head of the immigration department on Wednesday.

Remula said in the department order: "In addition to his existing obligations and responsibilities, MR. Javero is authorized to perform the powers and tasks of the above-mentioned functions until July 31 or his replacement has been designated."

Jaime Morente (Jaime Morente) officially ended his term as director of immigration on June 30.

Philippine transport minister appoints head of land transport agency

The new Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista on Wednesday appointed Romeo Vera Cruz as head of the Land Transport Agency (LTO).

Until his appointment, Villacruz served as the agency's executive director.

The Philippine Department of Transportation said in a statement that as part of the responsibilities of the head of the Land Transport Agency, Veracruz will perform the functions and responsibilities of his office by July 31, or until a replacement is appointed or designated.

As head of the department, Villacruz has the authority to exercise the "administrative and day-to-day functions" of the Land Transport Agency ".
