The latest entry news from the Philippines: The Philippine Immigration Bureau approves the exemption of foreign spouses/parents/children of Philippine citizens from presenting exemption documents

Foreign spouses/parents/children of Filipino citizens can enter the Philippines without Foreign Office Exempted Entry Documents (EED), regardless of whether they come from a visa-free or restricted country, Philippine Immigration Morente Jaime announced Wednesday.

Molente said that although these foreigners no longer need to show exemption documents when arriving at the airport, they still need to obtain appropriate 9A visas from Philippine embassies or consulates abroad.

In a document dated 17 February, the Philippine Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested the Immigration Bureau to allow people with valid 9A visas to be allowed to enter the Philippines without exemption documents.

The agency also informed the Immigration Department that it had instructed all Philippine foreign service agencies to write this note in the visas issued, namely, "According to resolution 160-B of the Inter-Agency Epidemic Prevention Working Group, foreign spouses/parents/children of Filipino citizens are no longer required to produce exemption documents".

Earlier, the Philippine government announced that it would allow foreign tourists who can be exempted from entering the Philippines in accordance with Executive Order No. 408 to come to the country without applying for a visa in advance, but only to meet other quarantine regulations.

The order lists more than 150 countries and regions, and foreign citizens from countries not covered by the executive order, such as China, need to obtain a 9A visa in advance to enter the Philippines.
