What are the steps for a German visa?

Some people want to visit Germany, but they are worried when they hear that German visa processing is more complicated. What are the steps to apply for a German visa?

Prepare visa application materials: Applicants need to select the appropriate visa type according to their entry purpose and prepare the corresponding paper materials as required.

Online appointment: Applicants should complete the form, make an appointment to the visa center, print out the completed form, sign it and take it with them. Handwritten forms will not be accepted.

Go to the application center: the applicant brings the prepared visa materials, including the printed visa application form, and goes to the visa center according to the appointment time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, the embassy may not be able to process your visa application.

Visa Application Submission: Documents and visa application forms submitted by applicants will be checked and verified. Please make sure: all documents are in the order listed on the list and the application form is complete and signed. All application materials that meet the requirements will be temporarily retained by the application center, including passports.

Entering Application Information: After the applicant's visa application is verified, all application form information will be entered into the German Consulate's online system and the applicant will receive a printed copy of the application. This process usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

Upon receipt of the printed form, be sure to confirm that all details are correct and sign the form. Please note that forms for minors (up to 18 years) must be signed by both parents. After paying the visa fee, the applicant will receive a receipt, which must be retained in order to collect the visa.

Biometric data collection: After completing the application information submission, the applicant's biometric information will be collected using a fast-track process that uses a digital finger scanner to capture a 10-digit fingerprint scan. This usually takes 7-8 minutes per applicant.

After completing the above process, the information of the German visa applicant will also be sent to the consulate for processing on the next working day. After passing the examination, the applicant can receive the visa according to the requirements.
