According to Philippine media, at around 8 p.m. on October 27, a joint team led by the Philippine Department of Justice raided a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Pasay City and detained about 500 people, most of them Chinese. The reason is that the operator is suspected of illegal business operations and prostitution.

The Philippine authorities said that the gambling center's license was revoked in September, but it still continues to operate.

According to the report, Philippine authorities found various facilities in the center, including bedrooms, KTV areas, spas providing illegal services, clinics, canteens, small grocery stores and a room called "aquarium". It is said that foreigners will choose to hire women there, including a Chinese menu, where customers can choose different sexual services.

Nicolas Felix Ty, Deputy Minister of Justice, said: "The building is well-equipped with services and a lot of illegal activities. In addition to KTV,POGO workers and owners also live here."

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) said patrons rarely left the area.

"They have their own kingdom here, and that's all they need-if they want to have fun, they can have fun here," said Gilbert Cruz, executive director of the President's Anti-Organized Crime Council."

It is estimated that 500 workers, mainly Chinese nationals, but also some Filipinos working in utilities and support services, reside in the center.

"We cook for the people upstairs," claims a Filipino chef who has worked at the center for a year."

Filipino employees are not allowed to go to restricted areas such as private rooms, he added.
