Chinese woman Liao was arrested when she tried to take a flight home! No visa, no Philippine entry stamp, forged documents

Officials from the Philippine Immigration Bureau (BI) stationed at Terminal 1 of Nino-Aquino International Airport arrested a Chinese woman who showed false documents on September 5.

Dennis Alcedo (Dennis Alcedo), head of the Immigration Bureau's Border Control and Intelligence Unit, said in a report to Immigration Director Norman Tansingco that the woman, Liao, 31, was arrested while trying to board a Malaysia Airlines flight to Quanzhou, China.

During the initial examination, the officers noticed that her passport did not contain a Philippine entry stamp, but instead stamped a certificate indicating her travel record. She was also unable to produce the Philippine visa she allegedly used at the time of entry or proof of visa extension.

After verification, it was confirmed that there was no record of her arrival in the Philippines on June 15 last year in the immigration system. The airline representative likewise said that her alleged flight to the Philippines did not exist.

Liao's documents were submitted to BI's forensic document laboratory for a level 3 examination, which concluded that the documents she submitted were forgeries.

Liao was immediately arrested and charged for violating Section 37(a)9, Section 45(c) and (d) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.

She will be held at the Immigration Department Detention Center in Bikutan (Bicutan), Dhayi City, pending the ruling on her deportation charges.
