Philippine immigration chief warns! New scam! This is about the Filipino Visa "!

According to Philippine media, on July 5, the Philippine Immigration Bureau revealed a new type of online fraud in which foreigners spent up to 20000 pesos to apply for fake Philippine visas.

According to the report, the director of the Philippine Immigration Bureau Norman Tancinko (Norman Tansingco) issued a warning to remind the public to be wary of unscrupulous vendors who falsely claim to provide visa services approved by the Immigration Bureau.

Tancinko said the fraudsters used the official sign of the immigration department and posed as representatives of the Philippine consulate in Australia to resort to deception.

Scammers are understood to send instructions to applicants asking for payment by transfer-a clear red flag. One victim, aware of the suspicious nature of the transaction, reported the incident to immigration authorities.

Tancinko recognized the seriousness of the situation and said the USCIS had cooperated with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Centre (CICC) as this particular scam falls within the scope of cybercrime.

In view of this, the Director of Immigration appealed to foreigners who intend to go to the Philippines not to contact scammers, but to obtain entry visas through the official channels of Philippine embassies and consulates abroad or third parties with regular licenses.

Tancinke further encouraged the public to immediately report any similar incidents to immigration and other law enforcement agencies.
