It has been nearly 10 years since the introduction of Portuguese house buyers. It is normal for a 10-year period to change with the development of the economy. Therefore, it is only a matter of time before the closure of the house is closed.

There are several points of our view.

1. Portugal's budget for 2023 is over. If the gold residence card is suddenly stopped, the annual budget must be restarted. This is a bit difficult for the "slow-paced" Portuguese authorities.

2. Due to the high housing prices in Portugal, the relevant Portuguese departments canceled the residential investment immigration channels in Lisbon, Porto and Algarve on January 1, 2022. They wanted to ease the pressure of rising housing prices. As a result, housing prices in these cities continued to rise in 2022, which did not achieve the expected results. Therefore, there are still differences within them in this attempt to close the gold residence card for house buyers and immigrants again to ease the pressure of rising house prices.

3. If the change rules are issued on March 16, there will also be a cache period, which is the same as the previous change on January 1, 2022, giving a one-year buffer period.
