There are good and bad compatriots in the Philippines! China's Li Mou experienced being illegally imprisoned and rescued

According to Philippine media reports, on March 17, three Chinese were arrested by the southern Philippine police district on suspicion of illegally imprisoning a Chinese compatriot in Tambo, Balanyuji City.

Police chief Ocampo said the suspects were identified as: Zhao, 37; Yan, 28; Jiang, 28.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Li, also Chinese.

The suspect was arrested at the JCAL building in Tambo, Paranak, about 6:50 a.m., the report said.

Ocampo said that before the rescue operation, a female friend of the victim Li, 29-year-old Sun, asked the police for help, claiming that Li was illegally imprisoned by the suspect.

Ocampo added that the police immediately launched a rescue operation, arrested the suspect and rescued the victim.

Police said the suspect detained the victim over reporting problems with unpaid debts. However, the police did not provide further clarification on this matter.

The suspects are currently being detained at the Paranak City Police Detention Unit pending appropriate charges against them by the Paranak City Prosecutor's Office.
