UAE to officially cancel residence visa passport stamp

According to the directive issued by the General Directorate of Residence and Alien Affairs (GDRFA), the UAE will cancel the stamp of residence visa on passports from December 12, 2022. UAE ID will replace residence visa stamp. The UAE Federal Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Authority (ICA) said the passport will no longer need to be stamped and that once the right of abode is approved, applicants will be able to download an electronic residence visa and travel using the UAE ID.
