Singapore Family Visa DP/LTVP Application Strategy

Eligible employment permit or S-card holders can use family visas to bring certain family members to Singapore. The maximum validity period is 2 years, which is linked to the validity period of the main work permit.

Which family members can apply

Dependant's Pass family permit (DP)

1. Legally married spouse

2. Unmarried children under the age of 21, including legally adopted children

Long Term Visit Pass Long Term Visit Visa (LTVP)

1. Cohabiting spouse

2. Unmarried disabled children aged 21 and above

3. Unmarried stepchildren under the age of 21

4. Parents-only for those with a fixed monthly salary of at least $12,000

Application requirements

1. The applicant holds an employment permit or an S permit.

2. Applicants earn a minimum fixed monthly salary of $6,000. This is based on the applicant's salary, not on the applicant's total household income

3. Guaranteed by a mature, Singapore-registered company (usually your employer)

What do DP or LTVP holders want to work in Singapore?

If DP or LTVP holders wish to work in Singapore, they need to obtain Employment Pass (EP), S Pass(SP) or Work Permit(WP), and must meet all the criteria for the pass applied by the employer.

DP or LTVP holders are not required to obtain a work permit if

• Participate in volunteer activities

• does not involve any remuneration

• The activity is for charitable purposes.
