Philippine city of Namotaus reimplements truck ban

The Philippine capital district of Namotaus (Navotas) announced that it would re-implement the truck ban from November 14.

Trucks of more than eight wheels or trucks with a total weight of 4500kg, including towing trailers and container transporters, will be prohibited from passing through M. Naval Street (from Agora Street to Bagumbayan-Bangkulasi Bridge) and C4 Ring Road (Tangos North Community to Gov. Pascual Street Section), Gov. Pascual Street and H. Lopez Avenue.

The truck ban on the above sections is from 6 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 8 pm every Monday to Saturday.

At the same time, the C3 circular road and R10 road leading to Gallokan City (Caloocan) and Manila City are determined to be special sections. As long as the truck is driving on the designated lane, it will not be affected by the truck ban.

In addition, trucks carrying perishable goods can apply for a "special pass" from the Transportation and Parking Management Office (CTPMO) of the local government department to use non-truck lanes and prevent delivery delays.

Violation of the truck ban will be punished with a fine of 5000 pesos and other corresponding penalties.
