The Philippine "visa on arrival" policy has been abolished, and overseas Chinese can become Filipino nationality.

At a forum hosted by the Philippine-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry last night, French Minister Le Muja said that he plans to promote all "productive" illegal aliens to join the Philippine nationality. "Aliens living in the Philippines are part of our culture and an integral part of our traditions. They have become productive and hardworking people in our country. Therefore, I respect these aliens, especially those from the Philippine-Chinese community, and intend to naturalize them as Filipino citizens. Similarly, I also hope that we Filipinos will receive the same respect in any country."

He also announced that the so-called "visa on arrival" policy introduced by the previous government has been completely abolished, and he personally opposes this policy very much. He said that the "visa on arrival" policy was abused by some people and led to the problem of corruption. He said that people who want to work in the Philippines in the future must submit the formalities and apply for a visa according to the proper process before they can enter the country, "just like we apply for a visa from another country". Li Muja also said that he will fully promote the public-private partnership (PPP) program and invite talents from the Chinese community to help build the country. The Minister of Justice told the participants about the problems encountered by prisons and government administrations, and said that the government has already begun to deal with these matters, and hopes that there will be a better business environment in the future for everyone to invest with peace of mind.

During the question-and-answer session, Limuja guaranteed that the rights and interests of legitimate businessmen and legitimate foreign investors would be fully protected, including online spinach operators (POGO). He stressed that the Philippines welcomes foreign investors, especially Chinese investors, who can invest in the energy industry, but the Philippine government only welcomes legal businessmen and opposes those who aim at money laundering.
