Sudden! Philippine Airlines plane with smoke in the cabin, emergency return to Manila!

According to sources, on May 16, a domestic flight of Philippine Airlines (PAL) was forced to return to Manila after smoke entered the cabin.

PAL spokesman Cielo Villaluna confirmed in a statement that flight PR2543, bound for Dumagut, experienced "technical problems that caused smoke to enter the cabin" after taking off ".

This prompted the crew to return to the capital for a precautionary landing.

Villaluna Cielo said: "All 82 passengers and 4 crew members are safe and can use the plane's stairs to get off the plane."

Alternative flights were arranged for the affected passengers, who had arrived safely in Dumagut after the plane took off at 4.16pm on Monday.

The affected flight involved a De Havilland Dash 8 turboprop aircraft with registration number RP-C5906, operated by PAL Express, a subsidiary of Flag Airlines.

"We confirm that safety is our top priority and Philippine Airlines is cooperating fully with the relevant airport and aviation authorities," Villaluna Cielo added.
