Good news! Philippine Embassy in China 8/24 Trial Run E-Visa Service

On July 25, local time, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) issued a statement on Tuesday stating that the Philippine electronic visa system will soon be put into use in Philippine foreign affairs service agencies in China.

The Philippine e-visa system will allow foreign nationals entering the Philippines to apply for a temporary visitor pass online through an electronic device.

In 2022, under the policy directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Information Technology (DICT), developed an e-visa system as part of an ongoing effort to improve the country's consular affairs.

The project aims to promote tourism and business mobility in the Philippines and will serve as the first step in the digitization of Philippine visas.

On July 11, 2023, representatives of the Philippine Department of Information Technology, Consul General in China, visa officers and post-visa assistants of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs conducted a pilot test of the software.

The e-visa system will be commissioned on August 24.
