Indonesia's Immigration Bureau will issue a "golden visa" by the end of June"

June 23: The Immigration Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will issue a new "golden visa" at the end of June, which will allow foreigners to live in Indonesia for 5 to 10 years.

The opening of the golden visa is the instruction of President Jokowi. According to Immigration Director Silmy Karim, there will be 10 types of golden visas, with various requirements and required data depending on the type.

These types include individual investors, corporate investors, Indonesian expats, foreigners of Indonesian origin, second homes, global talents, celebrities, bankers and digital travellers. Compared with ordinary visa holders, golden visa holders will enjoy more benefits, including simpler and faster visa application and immigration processing procedures, multiple entry flexibility, longer stay period, and the right to own assets in the country.

The golden visa will cost between 6 million and 19 million rupiah, a figure arrived at after comparison with other countries.

Silmi stressed that these visas will attract genuine investors and qualified foreigners, bringing substantial capital to Indonesia's economic system, especially the banking sector.
