Attention! Philippine AirAsia domestic flights to NAIA T2 from July

AirAsia in the Philippines recently announced that from July 1, 2023, all AirAsia domestic flights in the Philippines will be transferred to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2, while AirAsia international flights will continue to use Terminal 3.

Ricky Isla, CEO of AirAsia Philippines, said: "The transfer of domestic flights to Terminal 2 will bring more convenience to passengers, who can now enjoy larger space and better airport services. We are in a growth phase and we look forward to expanding domestic routes and capacity through this new terminal."

He added: "We have already started sending out text messages, emails and other notifications to affected passengers and widely announced terminal changes through our social media platforms. In addition, we are working closely with the management of the Manila International Airport Authority to ensure that passenger confusion and inconvenience are eliminated in the first few weeks of the terminal transfer."

Bryan Co, head of Manila International Airport Authority, said: "The transfer of AirAsia Philippines domestic flights to Terminal 2 will greatly benefit passengers and elevate consideration for local travel. Terminal 2 is used for more spacious check-in and waiting areas, higher security ratings and more convenient airport entrances, which is consistent with our efforts to enhance the overall experience of passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport."

Starting in July, AirAsia will use 20 check-in counters in the south wing of Terminal 2 and four online check-in counters. The move will speed up the check-in process, doubling the speed at Terminal 4.

The boarding gate in Terminal 2 can handle more than 13000 people at the same time, far exceeding the nearly 1,000 people in Terminal 4.

In addition, Terminal 2 is also equipped with a variety of public transport, including transfer buses, car rental, online booking services and taxis.

Airlines are still advising passengers to arrive at Terminal Two at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at least three hours in advance of their scheduled departure time to ensure a smooth check-in.

At present, the terminal arrangements of well-known Philippine airlines are as follows:

Philippine Airlines (Philippine Airlines) international flights-full transfer to Terminal 1 in mid-June;

Philippine Airlines (Philippine Airlines) domestic flights-maintained in Terminal 2;

Cebu Pacific (Cebu Pacific) international and domestic flights-maintained in Terminal 3;

Philippines AirAsia (Air Asia PH) international flights-maintained in Terminal 3;

Philippine AirAsia (Air Asia PH) domestic flights-full transfer to Terminal 2 from July;

The International Aviation Division is currently dispersed in Terminals 1 and 3, and the specific arrangements can be made with the Aviation Division in advance.
