Philippine Airlines and Emirates cooperate to establish intermodal partnership

Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Sunday announced an intermodal partnership with Emirates, which will connect passengers of the two airlines to each other's networks via Manila and Dubai.

Under the partnership, the two airlines will use a one-ticket and common baggage policy to provide Emirates passengers with access to 19 Philippine domestic destinations operated by Philippine Airlines.

At the same time, Philippine Airlines passengers will be able to use Emirates's global network and connect to 21 cities operated by Emirates through Dubai, including Cairo, Frankfurt, Casablanca and London.

Travelers can book trips through the carrier's official website, mobile apps, travel agencies and online travel agencies.

Bud Britanico, vice president of sales of Philippine Airlines, said: "We are eager to expand the influence of Philippine Airlines to various international markets and exciting destinations, and help stimulate business and tourism travel of global citizens, and provide better services to our Filipinos who live and work in overseas countries."

Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, said: "The partnership with Philippine Airlines will help open new links in trade and tourism, thereby promoting more inbound passengers to the Philippines and expanding Emirates's footprint in East Asia."

Just last month, Philippine Airlines said it sought to operate the largest network of multiple routes between mainland China and the Philippines, especially the resumption of Jinjiang and Beijing routes.
