What is the dual certification used in the Philippines?

With the increasing number of people entering and leaving the country, foreign-related notarization has gradually become known. So what types of notarization may be involved in the double certification we often say? How to handle the relevant consular certification and notarization procedures?

Main Types of 1. Double Authentication

Marriage certificate, birth certificate, no crime certificate, unmarried notarization, academic certificate, achievement certificate, power of attorney, etc.

Notarization of 2. and Consular Certification

Consular authentication is relative to notarization. It is an activity to prove the authenticity of the last seal or signature on a document sent by one country to another country for use. The purpose of consular certification is to enable a notarial document issued by one State to be recognized by the relevant authorities of another State without affecting the extraterritorial legal effect of the document by doubting the authenticity of the seal or signature on the document.

(I) the handling of relevant notarization documents. Article 25 of the "Notarization Law" stipulates: "A natural person, legal person or other organization may apply for notarization to the notary institution in the place of residence, habitual residence, place of conduct or place of fact." The above-mentioned parties shall, in accordance with this provision, perform the application procedures for notarial documents.

(II) the handling of relevant consular certification. Article 33 of the "Notarization Law" stipulates: "If a notarial certificate needs to be used abroad, and the country of use requires certification first, it shall be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China or an agency authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy (consulate) of the relevant country in the People's Republic of China.
