Dana, a spokesman for the Immigration Department, told the Laging Handa briefing Sandoval: "On average, about 15000 arrivals per day, but the number is still far lower than the 45000 in 2019 before the COVID-19 traffic was paralyzed. However, she still hopes that the number of daily visitors can continue to increase after the government relaxes travel restrictions.

She said: "Earlier daily arrivals were only around 4000 to 5000 but have now increased to 15000 per day, a bit away from the pre-pandemic figures, but we are trying to recover."

Although the dry season in the Philippines is over, she said that Malakanyan's announcement on Friday to further relax travel restrictions should encourage more tourists to visit the country.

The Department of Health (DOH) explained that the COVID-19 vaccine and booster will provide adequate protection for international travelers traveling to the country against symptoms and serious infections.

The Department of Health added: "These considerations are part of the input provided by the Department of Health and health experts on full vaccination and enhanced pre-departure testing requirements for inbound passengers."

According to IATF-EID Resolution No. 168, inbound passengers will not be required to produce a negative RT-PCR test report, provided that the inbound person must be at least 18 years old and inject a booster needle for Covid-19 at least once. According to its latest resolution, the travel insurance requirement for inbound passengers is also canceled.

Persons between the ages of 12 and 17 who have been vaccinated twice Covid-19, and persons under the age of 12 who are accompanied by a parent or guardian who has been fully vaccinated or has been vaccinated with a booster needle, are also exempt from the pre-departure RT-PCR requirement.

According to the latest IATF-EID resolution, fully vaccinated passengers are still required to show their country-approved vaccination certificates and passports valid for six months. Temporary visitors must hold a valid air ticket to return to the port of departure or the next port of destination within 30 days from the date of arrival.

Covid-19 vaccination certificates recognized by the Philippines include:

1. World Health Organization International Vaccination and Prevention Certificate;

2. VaxCertPH;

3. VaxCertPH foreign country or state digital certificates;

4. Other vaccination certificates approved by the IATF-EID.

Unvaccinated passengers:

Travelers who are not vaccinated, partially unvaccinated, and have not verified their vaccination status must present a negative RT-PCR test report performed within 48 hours or a laboratory-based rapid antigen negative test report within 24 hours before arrival. 48 hours and 24 hours are counted from the departure time of the country of departure to the Philippines or the first port of boarding.

Inbound passengers must also be quarantined by the hotel and tested for nucleic acid. After the test is negative on the fifth day, they will be quarantined at home for 14 days.
