No matter which country's personnel enter the Philippines to take part in the work, they need to apply for a 9G work visa. If there is no company to accept individuals, there is no way to apply for a work visa. How can Chinese apply for a long-term work visa in the Philippines?
Philippine job requirements
The Philippines requires all foreign citizens to obtain work permits and work visas before engaging in legal employment in the country. Please remember that obtaining a work permit is a prerequisite for applying for a work visa. The most common work visa is a 9(g) or pre-arranged employee business visa. Holders can enter and leave the country multiple times during their work in a company registered in the Philippines.
Types of work visas in the Philippines
There are three types of work permits to meet the different employment needs of the country, namely:
Expatriate Employment Permit (AEP);AEP is applicable to all foreign nationals who wish to be employed in the Philippines for a long time. AEP is initially valid for one to five years, depending on the duration of the employment contract, and can be renewed for up to five years. Special Work Permit (SWP);SWP allows licensees to work for short periods of up to six months without changing their tourist status. A locally registered company must be willing to act as a petitioner to the holder. The approval time for SWP is usually 2-3 weeks. Temporary Work Permit (PWP); This visa is issued to foreign citizens who wish to work in the Philippines and also start working in the Philippines during the period of applying for a work visa. The permit is usually issued to holders of temporary visitor visas (TVV) and can be extended until a work visa is approved. Unless otherwise stated, the processing time and validity of a Philippine work visa usually depend on the number of applications and the applicant's employment contract.
How to apply for a work permit in the Philippines
As mentioned above, the most common visa granted to foreigners looking for work is a 9(g) visa. To be eligible, your petitioning employer in the Philippines must be the applicant for a work visa. In addition, you need to obtain a foreigner employment permit (AEP) to work in non-tourism in the Philippines, otherwise you cannot apply for a job permit, and AEP is generally kept in the company.
In order to obtain AEP, employees need to provide the following documents: (If you don't understand, please consult the customer service of the official website first.) Correctly filled AEP application form, notarized labor contract and relevant documents, original job description, annual salary, benefits and other photocopies of the employer's valid business license: philippine Contractors Accreditation Committee (PCAB) License DO 18-A Registration PEZA Registration Ecological Zone Authority must submit in person the documents required for CEZA registered company and PEZA registered company (original must be presented) if it is a company under construction (original must be presented) two 2 × 2 inch white background identity cards according to the taxpayer's identification number, the authorization of the company or foreigners and a copy of valid identity documents, or by petitioning employers at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) district office. If you are assigned to a branch or subsidiary, it is best to apply to the nearest field office.
If your company urges you to start work before the permit or visa process is completed, you can apply for a temporary work permit (PWP), which allows you to work while processing such documents.
Travel restrictions during the outbreak
Since the outbreak of the epidemic in the Philippines, the government has implemented strict regulations to reduce the number of epidemic cases in the country. Local travel restrictions and border and international travel measures were introduced. Foreign nationals planning to work in the Philippines during the outbreak are required to comply with general travel restrictions imposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant government agencies.
If you have any questions about visa processing or difficulties in returning to China, please consult the customer service of the official website. We will answer your various questions in more professional language. Finally, I wish everyone a smooth day in the Philippines.
