Attention! Philippine Immigration Bureau reminds departing tourists to check in early in the near future

According to Philippine media, on June 10, in order to prevent delays, the Philippine Immigration Bureau (BI) reminded passengers leaving Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to check in in advance.

The Director of Immigration, Norman Tansingco, stressed the importance of passengers arriving at least three hours before their scheduled departure time to undergo immigration checks. For those looking to take advantage of airport amenities, Tancinko recommends arriving at the airport earlier.

"We expect passenger numbers to increase this month as the pandemic gradually recovers," Tancinco said." He added that the continued transfer of passengers from NAIA Terminal 2 to other terminals will contribute to the overall passenger volume.

Each immigration officer handles an average of 247 passengers during a 10-hour shift. Tancinco noted that Philippine airports currently have relatively limited facilities. However, he expressed his gratitude to the airport authorities for their efforts to expand the space in the entry and exit areas and improve the efficiency of passenger handling.

In preparation for the opening or expansion of other international airports, Tancinco revealed that they are actively recruiting and training more personnel.
