Turkey's attractiveness in the international immigration market does not have a pivotal position. Compared with some traditional European powers, the advantage of passports is relatively weak. However, the cost of handling Turkish passports is very low, and it is easier to go to the United States on the springboard. In fact, for Turkish citizens holding Turkish passports, they have the right to enter the United States by applying for E1 and E2 visas. For specific application conditions and relevant information, please refer to the detailed introduction of EasyGo Easy Travel International.
1. Can Turkish Passport Apply for US E2?
Individuals seeking to enter the United States must be nationals of countries that have signed visa waiver agreements with the United States or must hold specific categories of tourist or business visas. In order to encourage trade and investment, the United States has also established E1 and E2 visas, which are designed to provide visas to individuals interested in trading or investing in the United States. Such visas, however, apply only to nationals of the treaty State. Therefore, for citizens of non-treaty signatories, they need to obtain the citizenship of any treaty country first, and then apply for a relevant visa to enter the United States. Turkey is a treaty country for the US E1 and E2 visa programs.
Turkey signed the E1 visa agreement in the United States. S. E1 visas are primarily offered to nationals of treaty countries interested in international trade between their country of nationality and the United States. Trade should be substantial and continuous, and more than 50% of international trade should be between the United States and the treaty countries. Trade can be in the form of physical goods, transport or services. Such visas were created to facilitate international trade between the United States and countries that have signed trade treaties. Such visas are issued to the owners and employees of the company and are renewed only when the applicant and the company continue to meet the visa requirements.
Turkey also signed an E2 visa agreement with the United States. While the E1 visa applies to traders, the E2 visa applies to individuals who wish to establish or invest in an existing business in the United States. The E2 visa is a non-immigrant visa that gives investors the right to enter and work in the United States based on their own investment. The investment must be substantial and be invested in the enterprise that actually operates. The spouse of the primary applicant, his or her children under the age of 21, and the employee may also be eligible to reside in the United States.
2. How much does it cost to enter the United States through a Turkish passport?
In Turkey, for example, applicants can acquire Turkish citizenship by investing at least $250000 in real estate, a process that takes about three to six months. Once applicants have acquired Turkish nationality, they can submit E-2 applications. Applicants need to invest in U.S. businesses with at least 50% of the shares. There is no official minimum investment, but it is recommended to invest no less than US $120000 to ensure the success of the application. The whole process will take about 3 months. Applicants will be granted a five-year residence visa and can be renewed indefinitely.
All in all, the whole process may take less than 9-12 months and cost about $370000, far less than EB-5 investment immigrants. This is a faster and more cost-effective way to obtain U.S. residency, while also obtaining Turkish citizenship. The only deficiency is that E2 is a non-immigrant visa, which is different from the green card that EB-5 investment immigrants can get.
